TL;DR — This Week in NDIS 👇
Big fraud raids across Australia 🔎💸
Hospital beds jammed because people are waiting on NDIS + aged care places 😭
New pricing drops 24 November 💼
NT bringing NDIS supports into prisons 🧱
Families + providers = still stressed about funding 🥴
PLUS: Tara from Me Plus More showing everyone what real skill-building actually looks like 💜
🎤 Feature of the Week — Tara & Me Plus More 💜
Me Plus More is an online platform for adults with intellectual disability that actually understands how people learn.
No fluff. No overwhelm. Just real-life skills for independence, work and everyday life — all in easy read, step-by-step formats that let people learn at their own pace.
We talked about:
Why independence shouldn’t be a “maybe one day” dream
How good learning design respects people’s time + brain
How providers + support workers can back their participants instead of holding them back

Perfect for participants, families and support workers who want better than “activities”.
👑 Big National NDIS Headlines
1️⃣Massive Fraud Raids – Crime Rings Busted 🚨
It’s been spicy.
The Fraud Fusion Taskforce + state police ran huge raids on groups accused of taking over $50 million from the NDIS.
One group alone? $40 million in dodgy claims.
What this means for you:
More integrity checks
Some providers may disappear fast
More “please show evidence” moments
If you’re doing things right → you’re fine.
Just keep notes simple, honest and on time.
2️⃣ Hospital Bed Block – NDIS & Aged Care in the Firing Line 🏥
More than 3,700 people across Australia are stuck in hospital even though they’re medically ready to leave.
They’re waiting for NDIS housing, SIL, ILO or aged care spots that don’t exist yet.
Cost to the country? Over $2.3 billion a year.
QLD is hit hardest with 1,100+ people stuck and nearly $1 billion in costs.
The vibe right now:
States → “Canberra, help us.”
Canberra → “We are helping.”
Providers → “Everyone breathe.”
Why you care:
More pressure on disability housing
More push for foundational supports
More arguments about who pays for what
3️⃣ Costs Still Rising – NDIS Demand Not Slowing 💸
New data shows NDIS spending is still going up — especially for young people with autism.
Expect more:
“Value for money” talk
Tightening rules
Requests for evidence + outcomes
The scheme isn’t shrinking — but the rules might get firmer.
4️⃣ Pricing Changes – 24 November is the Switch Date ⏰
New pricing rules are kicking in.
This affects therapy, travel and some assistive tech claiming.
Your plan budget won’t change automatically, but:
Providers may update their hourly rates
You may see different line items
Service agreements might need a little glow-up ✍️✨
5️⃣ NDIA System & Festive Season Updates 🎄
NDIA is doing system updates mid-November —
AKA: possible portal slowdowns, outages and mild rage moments 😭
They’ve also released their Christmas + New Year contact hours so everyone knows who to call (and when) over the holidays.
Share with families — saves panic on Christmas Eve 😂🎅
🌈 International Day of People with Disability — Coming Up!
Friendly reminder fam:
👉 Be loud. Be proud.
👉 Celebrate your community.
👉 PAY YOUR SPEAKERS WELL.
If someone is sharing their story or lived experience — PAY THEM.
Not in exposure. Not in “experience.”
In actual money. 💅🔥
This day is powerful, important and about real inclusion — not tokenism.
🌏 State-by-State NDIS Vibes This Week
🟡 Queensland
QLD still has the highest number of people stuck in hospital beds — 1,100+ people.
Doctors want more funding so hospitals stop becoming long-term housing.
Every number = a family waiting.
🔵 New South Wales
NSW has 1,100+ blocked beds too.
People are medically ready to go home, but supports aren’t sorted.
Pressure is on to fix funding + housing quickly.
🟣 Victoria
VIC is right in the middle of the national bed-block mess.
Updated NDIS stats show VIC is still growing — more participants, more supports, more need.
🟢 Western Australia
WA now has 66,000+ people using the NDIS.
They’re also pushing emergency plans around fires, floods and storms.
🔴 South Australia
SA police have been part of the national fraud crackdowns.
Providers should be extra careful with claims and documentation.
🧵 Tasmania
Tassie’s focus this month:
Human rights
Restrictive practices
Consent
Provider obligations
The vibe = “Do it properly, not just for compliance.”
🧡 Northern Territory
NT is bringing NDIS access into prisons — helping eligible prisoners get supports organised before release.
Huge move for people with cognitive disability + mental health conditions.
⚪ ACT
ACT is watching the national funding debate closely.
Hospitals are under pressure, housing is tight, and everyone wants clarity on who funds what.
🎮 What’s On – Free Open Day at Game On
🗓 Date: Thursday, 27 November 2025
⏰ Time: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
📍 Location: 37 Firth St, Arncliffe NSW
What’s happening:
Tour the gaming facility, test the gear, meet esports coaches — a great one for participants, support workers or providers curious about gaming + inclusion.
💖 SwiftyMatchy Closing Vibes
The NDIS is noisy — funding fights, bed blocks, raids — but underneath all the chaos, one thing is clear:
People want good support.
People want choice.
People want independence.
That’s why I care about platforms like Me Plus More,
and why SwiftyMatchy exists — to match the right humans together so people actually thrive.

💌 Final Word
This sector is chaotic.
But so are we — in the best way.
We’re not waiting for someone else to fix it.
We’re building the future of care ourselves…
one newsletter, one app update, and one perfectly-matched support worker at a time.
See you next week with more tea, more updates, and the bits no one else dares to say out loud.
Keep your boots high and your standards higher 🤠✨
Stay bratty. Stay bold.
